The most basic difference you’ll find is this:
Manga/Anime are based on what Asian/Japanese people look like.
Normal ‘American-style’ cartoons are based on what the rest of the world looks like.
I suggest watching as many anime as you can to find out the different styles of anime there are and learn from them. Apply everything you find in every anime you watch into your own drawings until you eventually come up with your own style.

Drawing manga to me is different, because is Japanese cartoon! They have spiky hair big eyes etc… As I have seen they don’t really have all of those shadows that someone can make with a normal drawing! The best thing you can start on drawing manga is start tracing! Get some tracing paper so that, that way you can get use to the lines! Ofcourse the best way to get good at it is to practice, but that will help, just try to make your lines as straight as possible and very importent, don’t draw the line dark, just be smooth, so that when you make a mistake you can erase it, and don’t worry everyone makes a mistake even if you are a master!

Manga is drawings that originated in Japan. Manga is a particular drawing of cartoon characters.
Regular drawing is when you take a pencil and draw with it, there are many kind of ways and tools you can use to draw. Maybe you should practice drawing in some other styles so you can learn the difference and also get better at drawing and recognizing different styles.
